Confident, Alert, and Engaging Architecture

Great places happen through conscious design. Of course, one can always find natural beauty in abundance, but imagine one of your favorite elements of the built environment: Think of a house you drive by often, one which fills you with nostalgia and feelings of home every time you drive by. Add to that the coziness felt in a ski lodge while vacationing with friends and family - or the cool breeze sweeping across your skin as you sit on the front porch of a cottage on a warm afternoon. Somehow there’s a sense of ease to our favorite places, places where people can relax and be completely in the moment.

It is these experiences we wish to help bring to your life - and we believe it’s easy to create them if the setting is just right. Great places are the result of a talented hand and a decision to develop a design to its full extent. Whether that be the careful attention paid to the upkeep of a historical farmhouse, lending it character and permanence; whether it be the careful layout and choice of seats, tables, artwork and music in a cafe; whether it be the sculptural hand of the bridge-builder, or the careful measurements made by the carpenter in shaping and setting beams. Each of these involves a dedication to craftsmanship, a presence of mind, and an ability to see at once the detail and the larger picture.

Since 1995, Bona and Kolb has found success with this formula for creating great places. Our clients are happy to enjoy their homes, and even to this day our clients return for any renovations and additions they may be ready to build - and every day we are steadily growing our list of satisfied customers.
